What is IAS | Meaning of IAS -

Eligibility Criteria of IAS Exam

Nationality - 

Citizens of Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan, along with Indian nationals, can apply to this exam, but to be admitted to the IAS and IPS, the candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification - 

The academic qualification required for this exam is a graduate in any discipline. There is no minimum percentage requirement in graduation. The only necessary condition is that the degree of graduation should be from a government recognized university. The exam is so designed that people from different backgrounds are placed in the playground. There is no use for those candidates who have better marks in degree courses, only matters of civil service examination matter.

Candidates who are in the last year of their graduation course can also apply with the condition that they will re-submit their graduation marks sheet at the time of verification.

Age criteria -

The minimum age of the candidate for this examination should be 21 years. Different maximum age limits have been set for different categories. 32 years have been set for the general category, 35 years for OBC, and 37 years for SC and ST. There is an even greater exemption in the handicapped category.

Age will be calculated from the first August of the notification year.

Candidates who have been selected in IAS or IFS, they have appeared in any previous examination and remain, members of that service, cannot fill the Civil Services Examination Form again.
